01.02.2010Gethsemane Church held the conference of All-Ukrainian Council of Churches -AUCC
23.02.2010Gethsemane church has already conducted the 2nd baptism in 2010 – 3 people were baptized, two in the pool and one at the morning service by pouring of water. This baptism is also special in that the 2nd Pastor, brother Dima Semchenko who is the Ritual Pastor of the church, performed for the first time the very ceremony. Pastor Valeriy giving the final instructions to the two converts, Oksana and Mykola, before the ceremony started.
Oksana came to the Lord through one of the home group’s evangelistic work at a hospital. But she was slow to fully commit her life to God. Instead, her husband, Roman, repented and was baptized in the summer of 2009. Oksana has gone through a lot of troubles with her physical and emotional condition, the climax of which was getting to a psychiatric clinic for a month. There she cried out to God and left the hospital a different person with many of her pains and aches cured.
Mykola Robota is a tenant of the Elderly care home, where Gethsemane has been doing a home group for about half a year. He is the 2nd person this year baptized through this ministry.
He was a tourist bus driver for all his life and came to Lviv to get some documents and was temporarily put to the Elderly care. The Elderly care home group leader met Mykola “by accident”, when the taxi driver who was supposed to take people from the Elderly home to the church asked Mykola the directions and he sat in the car to show the way.
Sister Antonina is 85 years old, and is the mother of one of our home group leaders, sister Larisa, whose group mostly consists of senior people. Sister Larisa was faithful to serve to those people and spoke to her mother. God blessed her efforts.
