On May 15, 2016 Gethsemane Church organized a social outreach in the very city center of Lviv on the central square by the monument to T. Shevchenko. The event “Father, Mother and Me-a Christian Family!” was held to promote Christian family values and reach the community with what the Bible tells on God’s design for a family.

Gethsemane Church senior pastor Valeriy Marchenko began the event by telling the gathered community of that it was God who designed the family, and only He knows what is best for it. Other special guests who came to support the event were father Thomas Milyo (Roman Catholic Church), pastor Dmytro Kolesnyk (Hosanna Church), Lviv City Council deputy Oksana Rubai.

Gethsemane Church worship group praised God publicly and spoke the words of faith to the community. Other bands such as ethnic band “Oikumena” and a trio from the state music school joined the event to express their support. Different games for kids and contests were help kids enjoy the event as well.

pastor Oleksandr Savchenko in agreement with the will of the gathered community promised to put in a petition to the authorities to request that they help promote Christian family values. With the help of a tent and about 15 Gethsemane members 1400 Gospels of Luke were handed out and a lot of other Christian literature.
