18.01.2017Right on the Christmas day Gethsemane Church held a beautiful concert with the participation of communities from two Greek Catholic churches and two vocal ensembles . It was a great time to celebrate the birth of our Savior creatively and in one spirit. Deacon Pavlo Vasikov and Gethsemane’s youth leader Kate Pantsemo were the hosts of the event.
Gethsemane’s worship group began the concert with a wonderful performance of Ukrainian traditional Christ-praising Christmas carols. Senior pastor Valeriy Marchenko greeted everyone with the joy and glory of Jesus’ birth.
The community from the Greek Catholic Church of st. Volodymyr and Olga called “The Blessing” performed an evangelistic theatrical sketch creatively depicting the work of Christ for our salvation and a worshipping dance. The dance was done to the song performed by Gethsemane’s worship group. This was the first ever united evangelistic stage performance of a Greek Catholic Church and Gethsemane, Lviv.
Gethsemane’s youth ministry presented a a modern Christmas sketch with a flashback to the original Christmas , accompanied by a praise song to Jesus.
The concert featured two representatives of the vocal ensemble “The breath of spring” presenting two beautiful songs. All of the concert’s participants were given special certificates for their performance at this Christmas event.
The final touch of the concert was the song “There is power in the name of Jesus” by Olena Romanchenko of Gethsemane both in English and in Ukrainian.
