All-night intercessory prayer service
20.06.2016Family Day in Chervonohrad
11.07.2016Circa 500 items of evangelistic literature were handed out and God was worshiped in the city park. The regional government organized a social event to support traditional family values and Gethsemane Church was invited to join the event. Our worship group openly praised God and we set up a tent to hand out Gospel literature.
The event was in the park and hundreds of people were there to listen to Christian praises as well as performances of other folk bands, single performers and children’s ensembles, The March for Family Values from the Greek Catholic Cathedral of St. George joined the family event in the city park with banners for traditional family awareness and against abortion.
Gethsemane’s Pastor Valeriy Marchenko (in the middle) with a UGCC priest and the head of Pro-Life movement in the Lviv region Petro Husak.
Gethsemane’s Deacon Slavic Vorovchenko (and his son Timothy) handed out about 500 items of evangelistic literature (Gospels, mini Psalm books, NT in pictures and Bible stories for children).
People of all ages flocked around the tent to get an evangelistic literature package and a lot of them were quite amazed and much grateful to hear it was all for free!
Gethsemane also took part in entertaining the children at the event by leading several game stations, face-painting and chalk drawings contest to depict the children’s families.
We also set up a station where kids could form the so-called 3-D map of Ukraine by gluing multi-colored paper pom-poms following the regions’ borders. This map was later taken and nresenteri to the reninnal authorities.
