The Easter 2017 Sunday began with a little sketch with brothers as the apostles and sisters acting as the women who saw the empty tomb and the angels and brought the tidings, “He is risen!” Then the actors joined by the worship group sang the Easter song “Christ is risen!”

Pastor Valeriy Marchenko shared a message on how Easter originated in the Old Testament and found its full revelation in the person of Jesus Christ as the lamb of God. After the sermon, there was the prayer for the Easter loaves that people had brought to the church according to the Ukrainian tradition. The bigger specially cooked Easter loaf was then cut into pieces, and everyone had a piece delivered by pastor Valeriy and deacon Igor Khiliutich.

Afterwards, the members of the teens5 ministry did a sketch called “Hands” on how we can use them for and against God. Children’s Sunday School’s junior group recited an Easter verse. The five daughters of the Plakhtyna family sang a worship song in Ukrainian , English and German!
