Last summer 3 sisters and 1 brother were baptized at a special baptismal service in the open air by a lake shore by pastor Valeriy Marchenko. Church traveled about 90 km north of Lviv to a lake near Chervonohrad where Gethsemane’s daughter church is located.

The church gathered together to pray for God’s blessing on the baptismal service. It was a beautiful picturesque place at the end of the local woods area. The worship group started praising God with the lake for baptism behind their backs.

Pastor Valeriy spoke a message acknowledging the importance of the public confession of faith in Jesus by way of baptism. The 3 sisters and one brother shared shortly about their way to the day of baptism and were ready to step in to the water.

Pastor Valeriy praying for God’s blessing on the service and water to represent spiritual coming to life fro the deadness od sinful life. Many church members and children from the nearby Gethsemane’s children’s camp joined as witnesses to the special covenant act.

Sister Maria Maridko, a mother of 6 and a long-time believer in the Lord finally made her way to the baptismal waters. Glory to God!

Brother Vitaliy Maridko, a son of Maria Maridko, has been in Gethsemane daughter church since its planting.

Sister Renata Goshovska, a student who came to faith in the Lord with the help of her Christian friend Myroslava who was going to be baptized next.

Sister Myroslava Plakhtyna, a student and a long -time worship group member in our Church. She was allowed to be baptized by her father only when she came of age, so finally the time had come and she was so excited!

At the end of the service, the whole Gethsemane’s children’s camp greeted the newly baptized and praised the Lord with a song!

Pastor Valeriy presented all the newly baptized with a Bible and a baptism certificate and the whole church prayed and blessed them.
